Selma Blair, Bailey Chase and Adrian Grenier to star in the indie drama,
‘Sex, Death and Bowling’, which begins shooting in Los Angeles in mid-October.

Producers are Larry Rattner, Sig De Miguel and Ally Walker, who is also directing and scripting.

Chase will portray a formerly supremely fit soldier just back from Iraq who’s in rapid decline from pancreatic cancer. Blair will play his wife.

Chase has been set to star in the third season of A&E’s “Longmire.” His other credits include “Damages,” “Saving Grace” and the upcoming drama “Tao of Surfing.”

Blair was the female lead in “Anger Management” for two seasons until departing in June amid reports of friction with Charlie Sheen. Grenier is known primarily for his role on TV’s “Entourage”; a feature version based on the series is in limbo.

Chase, Blair and Grenier are represented by Gersh. Chase is managed by Untitled Entertainment.

Selma Blair Todd Solondz: Dark Horse Trailer Arrives

The official full length movie trailer for Selma Blair’s latest film, Dark Horse has finally arrived! Dark Horse has been spending recent months touring film festivals around the globe, including Venice, Toronto, and the 55th BFI London Film Fest in October. There are no official theater release dates as of yet. Hopefully it will hit the big screen in early 2012.

Lightning Strikes With COLUMBUS CIRCLE

Company sells multiple territories for thriller, actioner

Lightning Entertainment has sold multiple territories for its thriller “Columbus Circle” and its Stephen Dorff actioner “Brake.”

Deals were announced Sunday at the American Film Market.

“Columbus Circle,” directed by George Gallo and starring Selma Blair, Amy Smart, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee and Kevin Pollak, centers on a reclusive young heiress who’s endangered when she’s befriended by the glamorous new owners of the apartment next door. Telemunchen bought all rights to German-speaking markets; Key2media bought TV for Spain; and Fox/Star TV bought pay TV for Pan Asia.

Nonstop bought all Scandinavia rights to “Brake” and BooGee snagged all Korean rights.

BooGee also bought Korean rights to horror-thriller “Bloodwork,” which also sold in Benelux to Three Lines Pictures.

Quality Filmes bought all Latin American rights to action comedy “Cat Run” excluding Brazil, where it sold DVD rights.

Eagle Films acquired all rights for the Middle East for “Brake, “Bloodwork,” “Boy Wonder,” “The Trouble with Bliss,” “Top Cat,” and “Wrath” along with a presale on Andrew Traucki’s “The Jungle.”

We’ve been sent an exclusive image from George Gallo‘s upcoming thriller Columbus Circle starring Selma Blair, Amy Smart, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee, and Kevin Pollak. Here’s the synopsis:

Columbus Circle is a stylish and riveting thriller about a reclusive young heiress, Abigail, (Blair) who lives a guarded and sheltered life in a luxurious New York penthouse. But when she is befriended by Lillian and Charlie (Smart and Lee), the glamorous new owners of the apartment next door, Abigail’s safe and secure existence is suddenly threatened.

Lightning Entertainment will be premiering the film at the American Film Market in order to sell the film to international buyers. You won’t really learn much about the movie from this image, but hopefully we’ll be able to get a better sense of the film in the near future.

Lightning Entertainment Unveils Slate of Seven Titles For AFM

Just ahead of the next week’s American Film Market, sales-production-distribution company Lightning Entertainment is unveiling an ambitious slate of seven titles it is selling.

The seven titles, which range from horror to comedy, will screen at the market, with three making their world debuts. The films include:

– Brake, a thriller starring Stephen Dorff;

Columbus Circle, a thriller starring Selma Blair, Amy Smart, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee and Kevin Pollak;

– The Trouble with Bliss, which sees Michael C. Hall leading a cast that includes Peter Fonda and Lucy Liu.

– Bloodwork, a thriller starring Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer;

Also on the slate are the romantic comedy Scents and Sensibility, crime movie Boy Wonder, and the Australian horror movie Wrath.

For two of the films, Bloodwork and Boy Wonder, as well as The Revenant, Lightning has acquired worldwide distribution rights and will be releasing them in the U.S. through their domestic distribution label, Lightning Media. The US release will be via theatrical, VOD, digital and home entertainment channels.

Lightning said it sees a “reinvigorated marketplace” it is hoping to capitalize with the titles, which it also hopes will expand its presence as a domestic distributor.
