Instagram will be making changes to the reverse chronological order in which photos are currently being displayed in your IG feed. The photo-and-video-sharing app will launch its new algorithmic feed in the near future and if you don’t want to miss out on all of the adorable photos that Selma Blair shares with her followers, here is a message from Selma’s Instagram page on how and why to use “push notifications” to receive all the latest pics and videos from therealselmablair and other favorite Instagram friends.

I have included some instructions on how to get “push notifications” for those of you not familiar with it.

How do you turn on “push notifications” for specific Instagram profiles that you follow?

Follow these easy steps.

1. Go to his or her profile.
2. Tap on the 3 dots in upper right hand corner. (horizontal for iphone – vertical for android)
3. Tap on “turn on post notifications”.
Now you will be notified whenever that profile posts something new.

If you don’t like being notified every time someone “likes” or “comments” on your own IG profile then you can adjust your “push notifications settings” to your liking or simply turn them off altogether. Not everyone enjoys their phone blowing up with alerts every 5 seconds.

Here’s how.

1. Go to your profile page.
2. Tap on “options” icon top right corner.
3. Tap on “push notifications settings”.
4. Adjust to your liking.
